Born and raised in Fredrick Maryland…

Jake Thereault is a performing artist in the mediums of music, theatre, and dance. He is currently in his last semester at Salisbury University completing his Bachelor of Arts in theatre performance, with concentrations in acting and dance, as well as a second Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre production, focusing on wig design. He anticipates his graduation in May of 2020.

Some of his favorite performance credits include playing the Emcee in Cabaret, Helenus (the gender flip of Helena) in A Midsummer Nights Dream, and Alfie in One Man, Two Guvnors; as well as being a member of the Salisbury University Dance Company for two years. This has allowed him to work with choreographers from around the country as well as show his own choreography along side them.

As a dancer his work has spanned genres; as a choreographer he gets truly excited when he gets an opportunity to create work that blends genres together. He loves creating work that challenges traditional norms of what dance is or is supposed to be and looks for moments to add a comedic edge to his work.

Jake also served as President of Salisbury University’s Theatre honors fraternity Alpha Psi Omega. This allowed him to organize numerous Red Bucket Drives, volunteer trips to the annual Broadway Cares Flea Market, and participate in several benefit functions and performances all to raise money and support Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS.

When not performing Jake enjoys reading, running by the river and teaching fitness classes at a local Pilates Studio.
